Spicy Primal Deviled Eggs
Like deviled eggs? Try this healthy twist I came up with. Great to bring to a party! For the primal newbie, Avocados can be used in place of mayo in many application, including this one!
What you need:
2 dozen eggs (makes 48)
6 avocados
1 Jar of minced jalapenos (or 1-2 fresh if you grow them)
1 Jar of minced garlic
1 Can of whole cashews (sea salt if buying salted)
1 Bottle of your favorite hot sauce
How to Make:
Place 2 dozen eggs in large bowl with COLD water. Lightly salt the water and place on high heat for 12-15 minutes after boiling begins.
Shell the eggs and cut in two, length ways.
Place 6 avocados and 18 yolks in a mixing bowl with 2 table spoons of jalapenos, 1 table spoon garlic, 2-3oz of hots sauce.
Use a beater to mix well. Then fill the eggs.
Top with a cashew (or not if allergic)
Fat Shaming & What's Wrong With Being Fit?
Last week I saw a video posted on CNN while I was viewing the Health section.
CNN Article/Video Here: http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/17/opinion/navarrette-maria-kang/
This 32 year old Mom of 3 has worked very hard at this body and done one hell of a job. Speaking of jobs, she has a full time one. Key here is she makes time for herself to workout in the morning, and eats well. A body like this is achievable for most people that are willing to put in the work with the a proper diet and exercise program. We should be cheering her on loudly here, instead online communities (Facebook/Twitter) have decided to take a different approach. They are accusing her of "fat shaming".
Simply put, just because you are not willing to put in the time, don't make this about her, it's about you. Fitness is all about you vs you, and being better than you use to be. You don't have to look like this, but you should aim to be healthy. Almost all new studies link body fat percentage to all major health diseases.
Quite frankly maybe American's need a little more of this type of motivation. When people see other people can achieve it, it helps motivate them. It's always helpful to know what good looks like. Here you have it.
